Johnson Wright, Inc. (JWI) is seeking experienced, independent environmental consultants to assist with the third-party review of environmental projects. These independent contractors will work on a project-specific basis and provide support to senior JWI technical staff in our Lafayette office. Tasks to be performed will include review of technical and regulatory documentation, review and analysis of historic cost information and invoices, and assessment of future environmental requirements. Work products required will include concise written summaries of project site environmental history and status, coding and categorization of past costs, and development of potential alternatives for future environmental work based on current and anticipated regulatory requirements.
Desired qualifications and experience:
· 6+ years experience as an environmental engineer, geologist or scientist.
· Experience with the design, costing, implementation and management of environmental investigation and remediation projects (CERCLA, RCRA).
· Experience with governmental environmental regulatory agencies.
· Ability to rapidly evaluate and assimilate large amounts of written material.
· Strong technical writing skills.
· Professional registration (PE, PG).
· Detailed knowledge of federal and state environmental regulations.
· Experience with contaminant fate and transport concepts and models.

Mid-Level Environmental Consultant

We are seeking a mid-level environmental consultant to assume project management and client relationship activities for such projects. This full-time position is located at our Lafayette, California office. Consultant responsibilities include understanding client needs, developing responsive work scopes, implementing detailed technical and cost analyses of engineering projects, and management of support staff. Our mid-level consultants are expected to be self-motivated, quick learners, and focused on client service. Our work environment is fast-paced, collaborative and results oriented.
The position will involve a training period of 3 to 6 months, after which the mid-level consultant will be expected to maintain client relationships and participate in business development. Typical technical tasks will include review of technical and regulatory documents, review and analysis of historic cost information and invoices, and assessment of future environmental requirements and costs. Work products required will include high-quality written and quantitative documents detailing project environmental history and regulatory status, categorization and coding of past costs, and development of potential alternatives for future environmental work based on current and anticipated regulatory requirements. Litigation support and testimony as an expert may also be involved.

Industrial
Hygienist
We are seeking industrial hygienists on a part-time and as-needed basis who meet the following requirements:
· Certified Industrial Hygienist with 15 or more years of industrial hygiene experience including ability to provide expert testimony
· Experience with exposure and risk assessments relating to mold and airborne contaminants
· Experience with health and safety related regulatory compliance evaluations
The primary job responsibilities are to review technical and regulatory documents and provide guidance to non-technical client base. All candidates will be required to submit a writing sample.
Consultants will be compensated on an hourly basis. Compensation is based on previous work experience. Consultants will not be eligible for other benefits. Work can be completed at our office in Lafayette or remotely. However, the applicant must be located in the San Francisco Bay Area.
